What is more important in completing a task successfully, teamwork or labor division? In my opinion, I think both factors are essential in completing a task successfully.
Some big and complex projects need people divide work task into simpler component parts. Firstly, individuals don't have the ability to complete a big and complex project. In addition, completing by individual workers can take much more time. Teamwork makes it more easier to completing the whole project. Secondly, everybody can choose to do the part that they are good at. To do so, it can decrease the total time to complete the whole task.
However, many work tasks are not suitable for dividing work tasks. These work tasks need coherent teamwork and every part should be closely related. Firstly, the whole team should has effective communication. Secondly, the whole team should develop adequate comprehension for their collective goal. Thirdly, the prerequisite to meet the previous two needs is appropriate team size. Fourthly, the team should has a team leader providing effective guide and leading the team to adherer to their collective goals.
Inappropriate dividing work into small parts can lead to employee alienation. Those who are responsible for only a detailed component of a project can easily lose sight of larger organizational goals and their own importance in achieving them. Therefore, those employees will become less committed and less productive to their work.
In conclusion, in my opinion, I think managers should choose a proper way to complete their work tasks based on the nature of work tasks. Teamwork and labor division can both benefit to a organization.

My job orientation
Orientation can be divided into organizational orientation and job orientation. Organizational orientation is an introduction given by organization to assimilate new employees into the organization. Job orientation is usually given by manager or senior employee which include training for specific job requirements. In this blog, I want to share my experience about my job orientation.
I once worked as a marketing representative in an International Conference and Exhibition Center. This exhibition center belongs to Exhibition and Travel Group. This group involved in conference and exhibition industry, tourism, hotel operation and management, real estate development and catering industry. I remember after my organizational orientation, which conducted by a supervisor from Human Resource department, I came to have a systematic understanding of our organization's structure and how each relatively individual company belonged to the organization, which represented on specific industry as i former mentioned, operating and functioning as a whole to maximize group's interests.
On the other hand, my job orientation is a long process. As a marketing representative, you have to be familiar with the process of any exhibition event from it's preparation phase to it's liquidation phase. We are the proprietors who represented the Exhibition Center and providing professional services to organizing committees. This requires us to well coordinate with provincial and city bureau of exhibitions, local law enforcement agency, medias, our group's advertising company, management levels of our group's five-star hotels, conference center and resorts, and staffs or mangers from other departments or companies if our group. In addition, my job orientation include marketing plan, client orientation, scene operation, skills for communicating with clients, government officers and staffs in other departments or companies in our group.
To be honest, I didn't have a clue about what the whole Marketing and Operation Department which I belonged to was doing until I had my full job orientation. In the process of receiving fully job orientation, I became more and more confident to make decisions and deal with any problems. Most important thing is, I totally understood what my work content was and what were my job duties.
Therefore, I think both organizational orientation and job orientation are significant to workplace newbies. In my personal experience, those orientations help me blend in a new environment easily. Furthermore, it also certify my competence in my job.

Is location a significant factor in business's success?
With the rapid development of technology, location seems to be more and more irrelevant in
a company's success. Is it true that location is not important in any company's success?
Admittedly, the burgeoning technologies have changed the way of purchasing and selling. As computer technology and electronic communication become more and more convenient, the intangible locations on the internet have replaced the location in the real world in some business areas. For example, Dell's internet retail stores.
However, to determine if technology will threaten the pivotal role played by location in business depends on the type of such business. Many traditional business' locations are still very important. For example, many companies in service industry like restaurants, clubs or gymnasiums are still depending on their locations to attract their potential customers.
In addition, location affects internet retail stores' success more or less. For example, if the owner of an internet retail store is in a economically advanced city with convenient transportation city, it is obvious that this owner can receive product from supplier and ship product to customer than other internet retail store owners in other remote and less developed areas.
In conclusion, I don't think that location is irrelevant for any type of business. In my opinion, I think location is a significant factor in business's success. Technology can not substitute some unique functions of location.

Is it reliable to judge a person based on resume?
Nowadays, many employers judge candidates who are looking for a job based on their resumes. However, is it reliable to judge a person based on his or her resume?
First of all, admittedly, objective information on a person's resume is very helpful in the company's initial filtration of candidates. Education background, personal experience and previous working experience on a person's resume can serve as the solid evidence for employers and help employers gain a primary understanding of candidates' ability.
Secondly, only objective information from resume can not be enough to demonstrate the capability and characters of the candidates thoroughly. Employers can't know about the candidate's attitude toward life and work, if they are optimistic or passive, passionate or lazy. For example, job position in an advertising company requires creativity. It is very obvious that employers can't see candidates' creativity just on their resume.
However, interview can give more information about the candidates that the resumes are lack of. Face to face interview can let employers easily tell a person's personality and characters. Therefore, employers can pick out the candidate who have the suitable characters for the company. In addition, employers can give specific tasks to the candidates during the interview. To do so, employers can have an intuitive feeling for the candidates and estimate if these candidates have enough skill to handle the specific job.
In conclusion, I don't think that it is reliable to judge people only rely on his or her resume, especially when it comes to hiring someone. In addition, employment is a two way choice. Interviews not only give employers more information about the candidates, but also give candidates the opportunity to get information about the employer and job requirements.

Should salary be the most important factor in choosing career?
Nowadays, many graduates consider salary as a key factor when they are looking for a job. They turn down many job opportunities due to low salary and set their minds to get a high-salary job. Should salary be the most important factor in choosing career?
In my opinion, I don't think salary should be the most important factor in choosing a career. People may neglect many other things that worth to pursue in one's life if they put salary as the most important factor in choosing career. In fact, many people choose to fulfill their life goals and give up the job opportunity with highest salary.
Admittedly, financial condition is the foundation for any other activities. However, it doesn't mean that everybody should regard it as the most important factor in life. After all, money is just a way satisfy our basic life needs. We still have so many needs that money can fulfill. Such as families, interests and dreams.
In addition, some job positions may just appears to be with low salary. On the other hand, these positions may have great potentials. Such as chance for promotion, training opportunity, good work environment, excellent corporate culture and reputation and comprehensive welfare system.
In conclusion, I think the best career choice is the combination of personal interests and financial benefits. If people choose a career that they don't like, they may be impatient and blundering when they are at work. Only doing what they like or interest can people improve their working efficiency and working performance.

Education is essential
What do you think is the most important factor that offers more opportunities for success in today's society: education, money or poplularity? In
my opinion, I think education plays a more important role than any other factors.
Firstly, I think education can provide us with different knowledge and skills for solving different problems that we may will encounter at work or in our lives. It is hard for people to be successful without expertise and techniques. In my opinion, only education can give you comprehensive and systematic knowledge that makes it easier for people to achieve success.
In addition,
education can provide people moral codes and ethic standards. In my
point of view, morality is also an important factors for measuring one’s success. People who have power and wealth but lack of morality can't be seen as successful. Statistically speaking, many criminals are lack of education in present days. Education teaches people to tell good from bad and distinguish right or wrong.
Thirdly, in today's society, employers are more concerned with employees' ability rather than their personal wealth and social connection. Undeniably, most employers will estimate a candidate's ability based on his or her education background on a job interview. Moreover, people with higher-education background are more easier to be hired than other people with lower-education background.
In conclusion, education is not just about specialized and professional knowledge for future career life, but also many essential principles and skills in our daily life, such as
insight, virtue and analysis ability. On the other hand, I think everybody should treasure their education opportunity if they have one because there are many children in the world don't have the opportunity to be educated.
My keychain
When I was living in the New Residence at Thompson Rivers University, I often see an event is holding over there named "One word to present yourself". It makes me think, what would people choose if they are asked to choose one item to present themselves. As for me, I would choose my keychain.
My keychain is full of different adorable plush toys. They are all presents for me from my different friends. Every toy represent one particular good friend of mine. Every time I see those toys, they remind me every one of my dear friends even though we are now in different places all over the world. No matter how many years passed by or no matter how long will it take for us to see each other again, we will always share a common and precious memory and treasure these memory for the rest of our lives.
Secondly, those toys remind me of my university and my 4-year time that living in Macau. Living in Macau and studying in Macau University of Science and Technology is a whole new experience more me. It is the first time that I live in a city outside China is with different social culture and political structure. Macau takes us in and gives us sense of belonging. It is our home. I wish I never had to graduate from there. I miss it so much.
Thirdly, there are many different keys on my keychain, such as my parents' home key, my boyfriend's home key and my best friend's home key. It is very hard to be separated from those people you love so much and those people who love you so much. These keys remind that my boyfriend, my friends and my family are waiting for me to come home. No matter what I will encounter in the future, they will always be home supporting me and yearning for my returning.
In my opinion, my keychain is not just a tool that can hang my keys on it. It symbolizes many things to me, like my youth, my friends, my family, my boyfriend. It stands for everything that I've been through since I am an adult. It reminds me that I will never be alone no matter what. It also reminds me that I shouldn't let myself slack off at any time, instead, I should keep working hard and finish my study to get home.
